Pengembangan Alat Penilaian Konseling Trait & Factors
Program studi Bimbingan dan Konseling berupaya meningkatkan kualitas lulusan melalui optimalisasi pengembangan praktikum, baik di laboratorium BKP maupun PPL di sekolah. Bertolak pada banyaknya pendekatan konseling yang dipelajari, maka salah satu pendekatan yang praktiknya menyerupai proses pendidikan, berorientasi kognitif-tindakan, dan prosedurnya sangat direktif adalah pendekatan konseling Trait & Factors. Untuk memfasilitasi proses konseling, perlu ada kelengkapan instrumen perangkat lunak berupa alat ukur penilaian efektifItas konseling. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menyusun dan mengembangkan alat penilaian konseling Trait & Factors (APKT&F). Model pengembangan yang dipakai adalah model Course Development Process oleh Gustafson. Prosedur pengembangannya ada 5 tahap. (1) analisis; (2) perancangan; (3) pengembangan; (4) pertimbangan ahli; dan (5) uji orang-perorang. Subjek coba adalah mahasiswa program studi BK yang menempuh matakuliah Konseling Individu semester Gasal 2003/2004 sebanyak 22 orang, dan 3 orang ahli bidang bimbingan dan konseling. Adapun instrumen pengumpul data yang dikembangkan berupa format penilaian ahli dan format penilaian orang perorang oleh mahasiswa. Berdasar hasil analisis kulitatif dan persentase maka temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kesesuaian konsep konseling Trait & Factor dengan APKT&F, sistematika penulisan, kesesuaian isi dan pengalaman belajar konseling yang diharapkan, dan kesederhanaan bahasa dan kejelasannya umumnya dinilai “baik”. Adapun saran yang dipertimbangkan dalam rangka peengembangan APKT&F adalah me-ngadakan penelitian lanjut. Artinya APKT&F dilakukan uji lapangan yang lebih luas kepada mahasiswa peserta PPL-BK dan konselor/guru pembimbing di sekolah.
Quality Improvement and Management System Development of School Guidance and Counseling Services
The study aimed at developing an appropriate model to improve quality and develop management system of school guidance and counseling services. The study was divided into three phases conducted for three years in different school levels ranging from primary to higher education, in Java and Sumatra. The extension of the study was also conducted in Kindergarten and Special Education setting. The whole study came up with: the general models which provided a basis for developing frame work of guidance and counseling in every school level; frame work of guidance and counseling for every school level; standardized inventory of students’ developmental tasks developed in a computerized system; and learning packages developed based on students’ needs and development. Research findings show that the models were feasible and applicable and gave an improvement of quality of school guidance and counseling services and management
Pengembangan Kemampuan Profesional Petugas Bimbingan dan Konseling di SMU

This research was intended to analyze the characteristics and the conceptual framework of the professional development for secondary-school teachers of guidance and counseling. The data were collected from 62 teachers by using questionnaires, attitude scales, and ability test. The results of frequency percentages show that teachers’ professionalism varied, particularly in terms of their subject mastery, profession, and practical experience. Additionally, they had positive attitudes toward guindance and counseling. Unfortunately, the facilities to carry out guidance and counseling services were not adequate. It was then suggested that teachers of guidance and counseling be provided with continuous training.
Kebutuhan Belajar Penelitian Bermuatan Sosial-Budaya untuk Peningkatan Kompetensi Dosen
Learn about research, to do it, and published its’ result, are professional task of Guidance and Counseling lecturers as effort for enhanced his/her competence. There are two scientific approaches in any research, quantitative and qualitative. Both of these approaches have a socio-cultural content that need to be understood. Based on these conceptual notions, a descriptive study has been done and the main result is that so many Guidance and Counseling teachers that needed studying qualitative research than quantitative research. Some suggestions were proposed based on this result.

Education autonomy is an effort to empower educators, including the guidance and counseling workers, for improving the quality of education in facing the challenge of regional autonomy. The quality of education is measured not only from the marks gained in the exams and the number of graduates, but also from how the graduates solve their life problems and give satisfaction to the stake holder s. The Guidance and Counseling workers need to be empowered to be able to enhance the of quality education. In this case, they need to increase their roles and optimize their potentials and competencies professionally.
Pengembangan Panduan Bimbingan Kecerdasan Emosional Anak Didik bagi Guru Taman Kanak-Kanak

The present research aims at setting up theoretically valid and practically useful guidance principles for developing emotional intelligence among kindergarten pupils. The subjects examining the research products are experts in guidance and counseling as well as experts in psychology, whereas the subjects intended to be users of the research products are kindergarten teachers. Data were collected by using questionnaires, and analyzed by obtaining mean scores and using qualitative analysis. The research findings indicate that the designed guidance principles prove to be theoretically valid and practically useful
Masalah yang Dialami Wanita Pedagang Kaki Lima (PKL) dan Implikasinya bagi Bimbingan Konseling
This studi was aimed at describing the problems faced by women working as street-vendors. The sample consisted of 98 female street-vendors (PKL) in five cities of West Sumatera using cluster proportional random sampling. The data were collected through interview and analyzed statistically using percentage technique. The findings indicated that the problems faced by the women in household were lack of time to educate their children and conflicts with their husbands. The problems seemed to have some implications to the practices of guidance and counseling done through the out-of-school programs.
